One Reason Detroit Should Be Allowed To Fail

From ABC News’ Big Three CEOs Flew Private Jets to Plead for Public Funds: “The CEOs of the big three automakers flew to the nation’s capital yesterday in private luxurious jets to make their case to Washington that the auto industry is running out of cash and needs $25 billion in taxpayer money to avoid bankruptcy….[the GM CEO's] private jet trip to Washington cost his ailing company an estimated $20,000 roundtrip. In comparison, seats on Northwest Airlines flight 2364 from Detroit to Washington were going online for $288 coach and $837 first class, [and] Ford continues to operate a fleet of eight private jets for its executives [despite laying off 51,000 workers and closing 17 plants; the Ford CEO also took home $28 million in salary last year].”

Just wanted to say that the took home 28 million last year is a little misleading. It is not like he got a check for 28 mill.

the twenty five billion dollars was originally supposed to go to the automotive industry to help them with alternative energy solutions for their vehicles… - for innovation… - the country will never turn over a new leaf if our leaders allow greedy people like this to flourish… - these ceos… - that one day trip is basically someone’s yearly salary… - it’s time to fry some fish and look at the big picture… - these people have no shame whatsoever… - it makes me sick…
