Disappointment Fades In

From Slate’s Keeping tabs on Obama’s shifts toward the center: “More than a ‘clarification’ but not quite a flip-flop, the centripetal shift is a proud tradition among presidential nominees (as is flat denial of any change in position). so i clicked on the link… - and at the top there is a space for advertising… - and… - i didn’t quite catch the name of the life insurance company which was advertising for life insurance policies… - but… - it said… - “who’s going to take care of your family when you die?” - or something of the sort… - and there was a picture of a little kid - about five years old - all alone - sitting by a tombstone… - with his head buried on a stuffed animal or a sweater or something that was on his lap… - a real tear jerker… - the image would have been even more potent if there was a pimp in the background… - leaning against a grave… - filing his nails… - polishing the crystal at the head of his cane…

jesus… - i don’t even have kids and i was thinking about checking out one of the policies…
