From Rutland Herald’s Lawmakers approve sales tax holiday: “The sales tax holiday weekend [in Vermont] is on July 12-13, with a longer period without sales tax on energy- efficient appliances over the following days. The plan is expected to cost more than $2 million in decreased state revenue, which will be paid for by dipping into the state fund — paid for with gas taxes — set aside for cleaning up petroleum spills.”
