The Boss has spoken

From Bruce Springsteen’s Dear Friends and Fans: “After the terrible damage done over the past eight years, a great American reclamation project needs to be undertaken. I believe that Senator Obama is the best candidate to lead that project and to lead us into the 21st Century with a renewed sense of moral purpose and of ourselves as Americans. Over here on E Street, we’re proud to support Obama for President.”

First things first…….. he’s no ones “Boss”.
While I truly enjoy his music his politics leaves a little to be desired. It is a very disturbing time when you are contemplating who you are voting against and not who you should be voting for. This campaign has gone on way to long and has become stale.

second things second… - people in philadelphia call’m the boss and third things third is that you should probably read the letter because he clearly states that he’s voting for obama and not voting against anyone… - he only mentions obama in the letter…

and yeah… - the campaign is getting a bit stale… - but… - hillary and obama aren’t the first to go the distance… - it’s really the time gap between all of the primaries and caucuses that make it seem stale… - it’s not necessarily the campaign because i’m sure that the people who attend the rallies and skip down the street with stickers and pins are probably a little creamy in the wet spots…

Third things third, if who “the boss” is voting for has and any effect on whom you are voting for then please turn in your voter card.

    why?

isn’t it just as reasonable as the media having an affect on people voting? - or your spouse? - or little johnny up the street who’s single mother works three jobs and needs to know that there’s a candidate out there who will fight tooth and nail for universal health care and cheaper gas? - what about little johnny justin? - what about little johnny? - answer me that…

Ok so you are sitting on the fence on who to vote for and “the boss” comes out and says who he is voting for and you go well shit if there is one person who understands my struggles with healthcare and having trouble filling my gas tank it is “the Boss”. And then vote because of that then you are insane. When is the last time the boss has worked pay check to pay check, 1975? Yeah he understands what is best for little Johnny.
The media is worse because it has multiple agendas, one to back a candidate, two to sell the news.

  6. Posted April 17, 2008 at 03:35 pm | Permalink

well… - that basically describes our country… - insane… - because i would say that ninety nine percent of the people that vote actually know nothing when it comes to politics beyond the occasional headline and word of mouth… - some people vote strictly on the abortion issue right after they eat pig meat on a barbecue… - some people vote republican because they have it in their heads that the democrats are the lone force of taxation… - or… - some people vote the way that they do depending on what state they live in…

how many people watch c-span to see the government at work? - why is it that the only channel that is solely dedicated to our democracy nonexistent to the people who don’t want or can’t afford cable?

what i am trying to say is… - people don’t vote for legitimate reasons… - they don’t vote because they’re truly informed… - they vote because the newspaper wrote a little article or the anchorman showed a little snippet of a clip… - and like you said… - the media is worse because of its multiple agendas… - so… - with that said… - wouldn’t that make you more insane to take the media’s word for it as opposed to the boss’s?

three words and one acronym… - born in the u.s.a.

Newspapers and the like do at some point give facts, and the snipet of a clip is still information a person could use to make a choice. Saying I like Obama because “the boss” likes Obama is worse in my opinion. If you read/watch enough news you can usually dig deep enough to find some truth. Even on FOX.

    true…

and the boss probably watches these snippets when he’s not playing the harmonica…

i wonder who god is voting for…

So let the boss watch the snippets and with his immense understanding of the political system, his real life perspective of the middle class and their problems, and knowledge of what needs to be done to fix the problems, and go with whatever he says. I say Obama because after looking at who could help this country the most he is the answer, but please do not vote for him because I the Boss or Tommy’s mother say they are.

And didn’t you know God always votes republican.

I hate it when celebrities get all involved. You know, it’s like, entertain me you jack asses. I don’t give a shit what you think just pick up the guitar or play pretend politician in a movie.

Nebraska was Springsteen’s best album, it totally rocks. He stuck it to the man when he released that album. It was his second, the first was a hit and the record company wanted another big one, but Bruce was all, “I’m a record this one in ma garage”. Why does he talk like a mid-westerner if he’s from Jersey?

Also, the Seeger Sessions is incredible…and Born in the USA was actually an anti-USA song, but Reagan’s people didn’t really get that.

I don’t understand this argument. I mean, they’re people, right? And as people, they have the right to free speech, like you do, right? You think they care that you “hate it when celebrities get all involved?” Maybe they hate it when the hoi polloi get involved…you know, the boatbuilders, plumbers, mill workers, office drones, students, etc.

Where is the line between “hoi polloi” and celebrity glitz. It doesn’t freshen the stale process we are faced with. Does it?
    I wish David liked BBQ.
