GMC names new president

From the Rutland Herald’s GMC names new president: “The Board of Trustees of Green Mountain College in Poultney announced today that Paul J. Fonteyn has been named president of GMC, effective July 1. Fonteyn is currently the provost and senior vice chancellor of academic affairs at the University of Massachusetts Boston.”

I certainly hope that Mr. Fonteyn can take GMC back to a company that people can trust and have faith in. I have a soon to be 3 year old Suburban that is now on it’s 4th battery. Yes that’s correct, it’s fourth battery and yet GMC stands behind it stating–they can’t find anything wrong. Well when my 10 year old daughter and I were stranded at 2:30 in the morning, 59 miles from home on Interstate 10, because the forth one literally died while we were driving—I beg to differ. My bet is if it had happened to Mr. Brennan while travling back home in the dark and his GMC went through the same fate—it would be the last time. Must be nice. My Z71 has been had problems from the start, I’ve fought with GMC again and again. GMC needs to stand behind their product or at least state the fact that they aren’t going to, on their commercials so that I can make a more informed choice on where I spend my money. I’ve purchased my last GMC ever.

I’m sorry to hear about your issues with the General Motors Company, Tonya, but the GMC we’re talking about in this post is Green Mountain College, an environmental liberal arts college in Vermont.

I drive a Subaru, and that’s always been good for me :-)
