“Blood Omaha” is bloody ridiculous.

Take three graphic designers, add five days, some healthy imagination, and the ability to break a larger vision into a collection of small parts, and you get this amazing rendition of the Allied invasion of Omaha Beach. Apparently, the YouTube video is so popular that it’s been picked up by the BBC and is going to be aired in Britain on BBC2.

Frickin’ amazing. Enjoy!

All I am saying is that the greatest part of that part was not the amount of extras or equipment it was the tracking shot. I think it is one of the top 5 tracking shots of all time, and maybe top 3.

Its like comparing a person running a marathon and a person driving a marathon.

That’s a fair point…but I think the thing that’s amazing about this is not that it’s a cheapo version of Saving Private Ryan, but that a short film about the storming of Omaha Beach was put together by three people and three people only. It’s not a contest with Spielberg.

I think this is brilliant…not just the final product, but the idea of the short showing how it’s done.
