Boston Officials Livid Over Ad Stunt - New York Times

From Boston Officials Livid Over Ad Stunt: “Officials found a slew of blinking electronic signs adorning bridges and other high-profile spots across the city Wednesday, prompting the closing of a highway and part of the Charles River and the deployment of bomb squads. The 38 signs were part of a promotion for the Cartoon Network TV show ”Aqua Teen Hunger Force,’ a surreal series about a talking milkshake, a box of fries and a meatball.” Would someone down in Boston please describe what happened yesterday?

I was not in town but let’s just say it was mass hysteria. Storrow drive and 93 were shut down, as was the charles river all because of a mooninite. What I find ironic ic the company that was responsible (turner) also owned one of the stations broadcasting the event (cnn). You would of thought that someone might of called the boston cops and said its a monninite not a bomb.

What I find even more distrubingly funny is that it took three weeks for people to question what they were and we were the only city to shut down because of it. So it looks like not only are we anal up here we are lazy.

And by the way, interesting how my parents in Boston have such different reports about it, as opposed to our L.A. broadcasts out here…
