Is This Ridiculous?

My web browser, Camino, is set to keep a two-week-long record of my browsing history. It breaks it down into eight individual folders: “Today,” “Yesterday,” then a folder named for each of the five days before that, and finally a folder titled “More than a week ago.” This last folder keeps the seven days prior. So, I have this week’s history broken down by day, and then last week’s history all mushed together. Next to each of these folders is a little number that tells me how many items are contained within it. I just noticed this little feature. And well, according to my “More than a week ago” folder, I looked at 1,271 individual web pages that week. This doesn’t include all the pages I looked at more than once (for example, the New York Times homepage only gets counted once, despite the fact that I probably check it every couple of hours). I don’t know if that’s a lot or a little, which is why I’m posting the number here. If you have the skills and the software to check it, I’d love to know how many pages you visit in the course of a week.
