Tomorrow, you all are gonna be pigging out on turkey and stuffing. By Sunday, you’re to be sick of the left-over turkey sandwiches. Which is why on Sunday, you should try my shepard’s pie recipe and find out just how good turkey can be. With that being said, have a happy Turkey Day! And don’t forget, fry the bird if ya can, because it’s quite simply the best way to gobble a turkey. Now get cooking!
Left Over Smoked Turkey Shepard’s Pie
- 2 cups cubed cooked turkey
- 3/4 cup bottled turkey gravy
- 2 teaspoons hickory liquid smoke
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 2 cups prepared stuffing
- 1 (15.25 ounce) can whole kernel corn, drained
- 2 cups warm mashed potatoes
In a greased baking dish, layer the turkey. Add the liquid smoke to the gravy and then pour it on top of the turkey. Then add the carrots, stuffing, and corn, and top it all off with the potatoes. Bake it uncovered at 325 degrees for 45-50 minutes or until edges of potatoes are browned. And that’s it.
A simple recipe. While there’s no booze in this one, that 45-50 minutes of bake time give you plenty of time to drink the leftovers from Thursday. Have a great long weekend!
