Hi everyone, we’re super-excited to be a part of this fun blogging business, though we only really know Kyle and Dawn. Maybe we’re the western contingent right now (colorado that is); anyone else from this side of the Mississip?
At any rate, we wanted to start off with a bang of an article and a topic that has piqued our interest, one that seems to resound with a deafening silence in the media-at-large.
Hugo Chavez has been mostly demonized (fmr. Pres Bush [I] called him “an ass” on Larry King a bit ago), and there has been a bit of information about his policies abroad (i.e., the heating-oil giveaways to American cities), but not much on what he’s doing in and for Venezuela.
That’s partly why this article is so striking, as is the nature of the structural reforms his government is making. What do you all think?
By the way, there’s also a decent documentary about the attempted coup that briefly removed Chavez from power, which Google Video has in a hefty download.
’til next time, enjoy!

I’ve got you beat with previous residence in Alaska and now Washington state, where in Colorado? I can’t believe good ol’ Bush actually used the word “ass”. Funny.
