One Hell Of a Commentary

On Tuesday, Secretary Rumsfeld accused critics of the President’s Iraq and counterterrorism policies of trying to appease “a new type of fascism.” Keith Olberman didn’t like that very much. And he delivered one hell of a commentary.

    Couple Things:

Great Commentary - Olberman impressed me with his combination of seriousness and inflection w/out somehow coming off as preachy or aggressive….in short he sounded intelligent

Edward Murrow was obviously a great man and his quote at the end was a great one…interesting in that I did not like Good Night and Good Luck - now my reasoning for not liking it had nothing to do with the quality of the film (which was high)…it was just that I saw it in the theatre and I was not entertained…I found it interesting…but it did not need to be seen on the big screen…i wish I netflixed it…

I don’t think I like how Olberman uses Murrow’s good night and good luck tag line as his tag line…i understand its out of respect…but I didn’t like it.

makes me want to hunker down and watch good night and good luck again with different expectations…

Yeah, that may have been the first time I\’ve been impressed by Olberman. Usually, he just sounds like he\’s mad at O\’Riley for having higher ratings (not that he doesn\’t hate O\’Riley and not that O\’Riley doesn\’t deserve to be hated, but his commentaries usually contain just a little too much jealousy for my taste).

As for Good Night and Good Luck, I just thought they did a terrible job of making a movie out of it. It was interesting, sure, but a well-done documentary may have been better suited to the task.
