Less Than A Week Away

I know all y’all motherfuckers are excited about Steve Jobs’ keynote speech at the World Wide Developer’s Conference next week, and not because he’s going to announce, as Robert Scoble wrote on Monday, “a dizzying amount of new products,” which may include a new , a new to replace the PowerMac G5, and possibly movie downloads via the (increasingly misnamed) iTunes Music Store. No, that’s not why you’re excited.

No, the reason all y’all motherfuckers are excited is because Jobs is going to introduce the world to Leopard, the next iteration of Mac OS X (this will be version 10.5 for those who are keeping track). There’s been an shitload lot of rumors about the new operating system, and keeping track of them has gotten to be a bit of a bitch. But luckily for you, a new site popped up today that will hunt down all the rumors for you. It’s called LeopardTracker, and it is your one-stop-shop for all Leopard related info. You know you want to thank me.

Today’s big news, however, hasn’t showed up on LeopardTracker yet. You’ll have to venture to to find it.

Normally, I take all these rumors with a grain of salt. I read them because they’re fun, not because I think they’re right. But O’Grady is one of the bloggers that Apple sued last year for leaking proprietary information (Apple lost the lawsuit, by the way, to the relief of bloggers everywhere), so there is the chance that O’Grady may be right. Plus, are awfully convincing.

Whatever happens next week at the WWDC, you’ll be sure you can read my take on it here on Fluid Imagination. Try to contain your excitement.
