The Transition Continues

I was brought one (comfortable) step closer to being a young Vermonter today, thanks to the arrival of my new Crocs.

I was getting a little nervous, because we’re going away for the next week and I really didn’t want to leave before my new shoes arrived. But now they’re here, and I’m excited, and not even the rain can get me down.

I’d seen Crocs around for a while now. A ton of people have them up here, but I always thought they were kind of ugly (especially some of the funkier colors). Then Dawn snagged a pair a few weeks back and I tried them on. I’ve never felt a comfier sandal-type shoe. So, once Dawn saw that I loved them — and that I was going to try to steal hers every chance that I got — well, the wonderful woman decided to buy me a pair of my own. The things are so popular though that my shoes spent a couple of weeks on backorder. It sucked, because I knew they were coming, but they just wouldn’t get here.

But that’s all over. Today they arrived and I have my new shoes and, despite my hangover, today has become a very exciting Friday.

You and Dawn have the same size foot?

Her shoes were a little small, but they fit decent enough to wear ‘em to the store and shit. I bought the next size up.

Crocs aren’t specific to Vermont. All the hep cats wear them here, too.
