In an attempt to change the orbit of the planet with the hope that the “change of planetary position” will “stop global warming, extend daytime hours, and create a more homogeneous climate,” the folks over at World Jump Day would like everyone in the Eastern time zone to wake up around 6:30 tomorrow morning, and then, at 06:39:13, jump. Now let’s assume that it’s even possible to shift the orbit in this manner. I still have to ask, why would we want a more homogeneous climate?
