A month or so ago, Dawn explained her current process for watching movies. It’s not my place to get into the details (perhaps she’ll enlighten you by leaving it in the comments), but suffice to say that it involved focusing much of her attention on what is going on in the background of any given scene, specifically the outdoor scenes, where there are dozens of extras just sitting quietly on their bums or strolling by or carrying on silent conversations. Few people ever notice them, but they put the truth back in verisimilitude. So, for Dawn, and for Mr. Professional Movie Extra Guy, this Bud’s for you (and not to be outdone, please raise your glasses to all of the Real Men of Genuis, men such as the Mr. Silent Killer Gas Passer and Mr. Centerfold Retoucher).
