Drinking coffee cuts alcohol’s harmful effects | Great News Network

The Great News Network is reporting that drinking coffee cuts alcohol’s harmful effects. “A large study found that one cup of coffee per day cut the risk of alcoholic cirrhosis by 20 percent. Four cups per day reduced the risk by 80 percent.” Now, I’m no mathematician, but I think this means that, since I drink about six cups of coffee a day, I have reduced the risk of alcoholic cirrhosis by 120 percent. So I’ve got 20% to play with. Looks like papa has to start drinking fifths of vodka with dinner.

There’s a reason that I subscribe to a bunch of different magazines, Dave.

When I say that I drink six cups of coffee, I mean “cups” as they are denoted on the side of my coffee maker. This is not six large coffees from Dunkin’ Donuts. But six cups of coffee.
