New chair. New chair.

We just made a Staples run to get some binders for our final projects and shit, and while there, I ended up buying a new desk chair. Normally, such a thing would not be very exciting, but you gotta understand that I spend about 7 hours a day in my desk chair. Because our apartment is so small and we only have one “living room” type of chair, I do a lot of reading at my desk. Not to mention all the writing, working, and surfing I do on the computer. So when it comes to my desk chair, I’m pretty much talking about the place where a good percentage of my life happens.

You’d think I’d go all out and buy some $300 chair. Oh, if only it were so! Unfortunately, my budget won’t allow for such a thing, so I had to select one in the under-$100 range. One of my professors up at Alaska Pacific had herself a $700 chair that was absolutely ridiculous. It was one of those chairs that worked equally well sitting backward or forwards, so you can have support on either your chest or your back. Shit was crazy.

I didn’t get such a thing. Mine’s just a basic manager’s chair. It’s much stiffer than my previous one, and quieter, smoother. It doesn’t lean back as much, but I’m taking that to be a good thing.

All in all, I’m very excited. Man, I’m a dork.
